La Paz real estate has always had a relatively small inventory of foreign based developments and housing complexes but with the more recent interest La Paz Mexico real estate has seen we now enjoy 3 major multimillion dollar developments in progress and a host of new smaller developments that have brought some exciting new opportunities to the local market. These new exiting developments reflect the worldwide interest now being shown in La Paz .

If you are interested in a slightly more typically Mexican town to visit, La Paz is full of old colonial buildings and has a very relaxed atmosphere. It is also the capital city of Baja California Sur. Although not quite as popular among the tourists who visit the Corridor, La Paz offers many nice hotels, shops and beaches. It has an international airport and many fine restaurants, as well as a car/passenger ferry which runs back and forth to mainland Mexico. The water is warm here and the fishing and scuba diving are some of the very best in all of Baja.

Described as a sleepy little port city with scenic boardwalks and beautiful beaches and unlike many other well known tourist destinations, La Paz has developed slowly and steadily, without dramatic changes over the last century. La Paz history dates back to its founding in the year 1535, by Spanish conquistador Cortez.

La Paz also enjoys the benefits of a modern international airport with daily round trip flights from Los Angeles , Phoenix and many other destinations. While Los Cabos has grown very rapidly in the two decades, this same pace of development has created many problems, denying it the attraction La Paz has as a well planned and developed small city.

La Paz is a city that can only be thought of as friendly, peaceful and very safe. Although La Paz has traditionally enjoyed relative obscurity, compared to other Mexican port towns, times are changing with the word is beginning to get out to the rest of the world about this hidden treasure. Most recently two articles have appeared in the New York Times and Money Magazine voting La Paz , Mexico to be #1 among foreign destinations to retire. La Paz still sees its normal share of tourists coming to visit the spectacular neighboring islands, outstanding sports fishing, diving and boating, but recently there has been a new foreign visitor in town, arriving to investigate opportunities for retirement , vacation homes, business and development.
